Five Common Football Score Prediction Mistakes

Same traps, every season. If your points stall, one of these is probably the reason.

PredictionsPremier League

Backing your club for a 4-0 every week feels loyal. It also bleeds points. A narrow home win you half believe beats a fantasy scoreline you do not.

One big win last week does not mean the next game goes the same way. Ten-game form tells you more than a single result on Match of the Day highlights.

Defensive injuries matter. If a centre-back pairing is out, bump your goal expectation before the deadline, not after the line-ups drop and you have already locked in 0-0.

Two more that sting

Chasing exact scores before you have the result right is backwards. Get the outcome (win, draw, loss) sorted first. Exact points come from repeating sensible numbers, not from typing 4-3 because it might happen.

Friday kick-offs still ruin slips. If the gameweek opens on a Friday night, set a reminder. Assuming everything locks at Saturday 3pm is how you end up watching the first goal go in with an empty ticket.
